File Management System
Mass storage is a system that stores large amounts of data. This type of storage is used to backup data if data was to be lost. To enhance file system management, preallocating inodes and scattering these inodes across a volume increases its performance. Examples of a bus are; the PCI, expansion, SCSI and daisy-chain. Hardware are the physical components of a computer such as a keyboard or mouse. Software is applications installed into the computer such as MS, PowerPoint, etc. The registers contain a group of data, and control signals that allow communication between the hardware and the software. The I/O requests are then executed by the CPU.
